The Department of Physical Therapy Education is proud to announce that Justin Trent, DPT (PT '10) has been named the 2012 recipient of the Kathy Johnson Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching.
This award is given annually by the Central ACCE Consortium which is made up of Academic Coordinators of Clinical Education (ACCE) and Directors of Clinical Education (DCE) from DPT and PTA programs in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. Faculty from all programs in the consortium are invited to nominate clinicians who have demonstrated outstanding skills mentoring and educating PT and PTA students during clinical internships. The nominees are reviewed by a committee within the consortium which determines the award recipient.
Justin was nominated by Ann Marie Decker (Rockhurst ACCE) with support from DPT students from the Rockhurst Class of 2012. Justin's nomination highlighted his outstanding skills as an educator in the clinic and in the classroom. He was commended for his dedication to his clients and to his students.
Please join us in congratulating Justin on receiving this award. He will be honored and formally receive the award during research day activities on March 1.
