PT Department Welcomes Marcie Swift, PT, PhD

The Rockhurst Department of Physical Therapy Education is excited (although late) to announce that Marcie Swift, PT, PhD, joined the department as a full-time member of the faculty in fall semester 2011. In announcing her arrival to the Rockhurst campus at the beginning of fall semester, Departrment Chair Brian McKiernan stated, "Marcie is an energetic and dynamic woman who brings excellent clinical and classroom teaching experience to our faculty."

Dr. Swift will teach in the musculoskeletal course sequence in the PT curriculum. She received her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University and then earned her MS PT and her PhD at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Dr. Swift completed a residency program in manual therapy at the Kaiser Institute in Vallejo, California and taught in the musculoskeletal curriculum in the PT program at the University of Kansas Medical Center for several years.

We are glad that Marcie chose to join our team and we look forward to working with her for many years to come. In reflecting on her arrival, Dr. McKiernan said, "I am confident she will make many strong and lasting contributions to our students and our department."
