Class of 2010 Honors Steve Wilkinson

Congratulations to Steve Wilkinson, PT, PhD for being named the Outstanding PT Faculty member by the Class of 2010. The award was announced at the class graduation banquet on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Steve joined our department in August 2005 and has been a full-time faculty member since that time. He teaches in two of the courses of our musculoskeletal content sequence (PT Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions - Spine and Pelvis; and PT Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions - Integrated). In presenting the award, the students said they appreciate the tremendous knowledge Steve brings to the classroom and his passion for excellent physical therapy care.

Steve and his wife Quisha live in Overland Park. They are the proud parents of four great kids (two girls and two boys).

Adjunct Faculty to Present at WCPT

Congratulations to PT adjunct faculty member Adriaan Louw on being invited to present a focused symposium at the World Confederation for Physical Therapy meeting in 2011.

The 2011 WCPT meeting will take place June 20-23, 2011 in Amsterdam Netherlands.

Adriaan's symposium is titled, "Teaching People About Pain." He will be joined by Lorimer Moseley, David Butler and Michael Thacker in presenting the symposium at WCPT.

Adriaan's special interest is teaching spinal surgeons and spinal surgery patients about the biological processes that occur during and after surgery.

Among his many contributions to the Rockhurst PT program, Adriaan has taught the very popular "Advanced Examination and Treatment of the Spine" elective in the entry-level MPT and DPT programs.
